Traditional dental crowns generally require at least two dental appointments. During your dental appointment with Dr. Nick Schulte, we take digital x-rays of your weakened tooth. Unlike traditional dental crowns, there is no messy gloop involved.
We use a special intraoral scanner to help make a 3-D model of your tooth. Dr. Schulte can zoom in or adjust the image as necessary so that we can fabricate the perfect fit.
Once we're happy with how perfect the 3-D model is, we can mill the restoration right there in our dental office. CEREC dental crowns in St Paul, MN is easier and more accessible than you might think!
The process of creating the new dental crown is straightforward and finely tuned, often taking around 15 minutes to complete. This is great for patients who are on a tight schedule!
The CEREC Process in Saint Paul
Once our milling machine has finished fabricating your new dental crown out of top-rated ceramic dental material, Dr. Merideth Meador-Schulte will fit it over your damaged tooth to ensure a precise and snug fit.
Now you have a new permanent dental crown! It looks, feels, and functions like a traditional crown, and can be expected to last many years with proper maintenance.
Once you've fit the new dental crown over your tooth, there is no need for follow-up fittings or appointments to remove a temporary crown.

What Is a CEREC Dental Crown?
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics.
That's a bit of a mouthful, but it means that Dr. Nick Schulte uses the precision and accuracy of computer designs to manufacture a dental crown that fits perfectly over your tooth.
Since our impressions and patient records are all digitized, we can skip the awkward gloopy step and go straight to 3-D designing your smile down to the millimeter.
Once we're happy with your digital impression and how your new dental crown looks on our computer, we can send the information to our milling machine to start working on your lovingly crafted dental restoration.
The Convenience of Traditional Dental Crowns
