What are inlays?

An inlay fits in the grooves and fills in cavities without extending over the cusps of the tooth. They are molded to fit into the chewing space to replace any tooth structure that has been lost through damage or decay.

Patients who have a tooth that has been weakened from injury or decay benefit from this restorative treatment.

During your appointment with us, Dr. Nick Schulte will remove any decay or damaged tissue before making an impression in order to make the inlay. We make sure to match the shade of the tooth to your existing smile.

Reliable Dental Inlays

Dental inlays are typically more durable than standard fillings.

Inlays in St. Paul, MN are often recommended if :

  • Patients have a broken or cracked tooth that doesn't impact the cusp
  • Decay or trauma requires a large dental filling
  • The tooth has enough structure that a dental crown is not needed

Inlays help restore your smile while preventing future decay.

Are Inlays the Right Solution for You?

At Brimhall Dentistry, we can help you determine if inlays are a better option over a regular filling. We want to strengthen your tooth and its surrounding neighbors, especially when a cavity requires extra help to fortify the tooth's structure.
